ABOUT ANTIGUA
ANTIGUA - The Beach is Just the Beginning
Just 17 degrees north of the equator and basking in delightful tropical temperatures year round, the beautiful island of Antigua lies at the heart of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean. Those in the know will tell you that Antigua is home to 365 stunning beaches – that’s one for every day of the year. And at Tamarind Hills two of the island’s finest beaches are on the doorstep of your luxury Caribbean property
But the island has tempting attractions away from the beaches, like the pastel-washed waterfront boutiques and restaurants of the capital, St. John’s, and the yachtsman’s paradise and Georgian charm of Nelson’s Dockyard. Then, there’s the pleasure of golf at Antigua’s two golf clubs, scuba diving over coral reefs, water sports and on land – tennis, cycling, horse riding and more.
At just over 100 square miles in area, Antigua is easy to explore and there are sports and pastimes for every age and interest, including:
- Golf - at the 18-hole Cedar Valley Golf Course and the Jolly Harbour Golf Club, where visiting players are also welcome
- Sailing - the island is a yachties paradise and the annual Antigua Sailing Week has become a major fixture on the global sailing calendar
- Scuba and snorkelling - the translucent waters, reefs and wrecks around Antigua offer outstanding underwater adventures
- Windsurfing and Kitesurfing - There are great conditions for both learners and experience kitesurfers and windsurfers on the North East coast
- Rainforest Canopy Ride - there is an exciting, unique rainforest zip lining experience 20 minutes to the south
